Mike Ybarra, Vice President of Xbox and Microsoft, has charged against Sony’s attacks on backward compatibility of the games . The words of Jim Ryan, head of sales of Sony, about the little need for backward compatibility of Sony have not been well viewed by the Xbox executive.
A few days ago, Ryan gave an interview to TIME where he spoke about backward compatibility, among other issues. As he commented, even if it was an element requested by fans, in practice hardly enjoy retrocompatible games today.
«I can say that the theme of backward compatibility is one of those elements that is asked for a lot, but it is not used as much. I was in the last event of Gran Turismo, where there were games of PS1, PS4, PS3 and PS4. The PS1 and PS2 games were very old. Who would want to play something like that? «Commented Sony Head of Sales, Jim Ryan.
Mike Ybarra’s response was not long in coming. Via Twitter, the Xbox executive has cleared his disagreement with Ryan’s words.
«I disagree. We want players to play the best games of the past, present and future. It’s what they asked for. «
Disagree. We want gamers to play the best games of the past, current, and future. It's what gamers have asked for. https://t.co/iMtprzgBQI

Not only has Jim Ryan’s words been misguided to fans, but also wrong. As we discussed at the time , games like Red Dead Redemption or GTA IV fired their sales scandalously on Amazon .
Fortunately, Xbox One users can still enjoy the list of backward compatible games .List that, on the other hand, does not stop growing.
